How to convert WebP to JPG
-
Add your WebP images
Drop up to 50 WebP files onto the panel, or choose them from your device. Files renamed to .webp are recognized by their real content.
-
Pick a quality
High keeps the most detail, Compact makes the smallest files. Balanced is a good default for sharing and websites.
-
Convert to JPG
Decoding and encoding happen on your device. Transparent areas become white, and animated WebP files export their first frame.
-
Download your JPGs
Save everything as one zip, or download files one by one. Names keep the original image name with a .jpg ending.
Features
-
Animated WebP handled honestly
Animated files export their first frame as a still JPG, and the result is labeled so there are no surprises — never an error, never a silent black image.
-
Renamed files recognized
A PNG or JPEG renamed to .webp is detected from its actual content. It converts with a note, and real JPEGs are renamed without recompressing.
-
Nothing is uploaded
Images are decoded and re-encoded inside this tab. A strict content security policy blocks outbound requests as a guarantee.
-
Big batches, small effort
Convert up to 50 images in one pass and grab them as a zip. Each file shows its size before and after, plus anything noteworthy.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert WebP to JPG for free?
Use this tool. Add your WebP files, choose a quality, and click Convert. Everything happens in your browser, so there is no upload, no sign-up, and no limit on how many batches you can run.
What happens with animated WebP files?
The first frame is exported as a still JPG, and the file is labeled "first frame only" in the results. You get a normal photo instead of an error, and never a blank or black output from a broken animation.
What happens to transparency when converting to JPG?
JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. If you need to keep transparency, keep the WebP or convert to PNG instead.
My file is named .webp but it is really a PNG or JPG. Will it work?
Yes. Files are identified by their actual content, not their name. A renamed PNG converts normally and is labeled as such, and a renamed JPEG is simply renamed to .jpg without recompressing, so it loses no quality.
Is the EXIF data kept?
No. Metadata like camera settings and location is not carried over to the JPG. If you want to share a photo without its location attached, this takes care of it as a side effect.
How many images can I convert at once?
Up to 50 images per batch, 15 MB each, with a 150 MB batch limit — enough for a full album. Limits are set per tool based on memory use.
