How much text can a QR code hold?
Up to 2,953 characters at Low error correction, 2,331 at Medium, 1,663 at Quartile, and 1,273 at High. Digits and uppercase URLs fit more; the counter below the box tracks your budget at the chosen level.
SVG or PNG — which should I download?
SVG for anything printed or resized — it is a vector and never gets blurry. PNG for a fixed-size image in slides, chats, or ticket systems. The PNG exports at 8 pixels per module.
Do the codes expire?
No. The QR code just encodes your text — there is no account, no redirect service, and no expiry. It keeps working as long as the link inside it does.
What is the quiet zone?
The blank white border around the code. The ISO/IEC 18004 standard requires at least four modules of quiet zone so scanners can find the code. This tool always includes it.
